By Unanimous Vote, the Committee Recommended to Sign the MOU. Thank You!

Dear Friends,

We are excited to announce that your contribution to our petition regarding the FDA’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) worked! It was received by the California Compounding Enforcement Committee. The committee - by a unanimous vote - passed a motion to recommend the California Board of Pharmacy sign the MOU with the FDA provided regulatory requirements and resources. This does not mean that we are 100% out of the woods yet, but this is a HUGE win and as close to a victory as you can get without having the ink dry on the MOU.

McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Services received thousands of signatures and comments on the petition to the California State Board of Pharmacy. The responses far exceeded our expectations with a very fast turnaround. We turned in the petition with all signatures and comments to the Committee. McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Services was the only Pharmacy to do any or all of the following: submit a petition, attend the committee meeting, and present to the Committee Members.

When watching the live feed, each Committee Member had a very large stack of signature papers from this petition so there was no way that they could miss it.

Thank you to all of you who provided us your voice and strength. Without your direct effort to effect the committee’s decision, this may not have gone the way that it. Together, we were able to ensure patient access to compounded medications remains available to everyone.

More to follow once the ink is dry on the MOU.

We, as always, will remain on watch for anything that tries to impede patient access compounded medications. Thank you once again!

Ronald M. McGuff
