McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Technicians

Pharmacy Technicians at McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Services, Inc. are the best in the business.

To start, every McGuff pharmacy technician is licensed by the California State Board of Pharmacy which ensures they have met the minimal standards set by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

Once hired, each pharmacy technician receives extensive training at McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Services, Inc. in both sterile and non-sterile compounding.

This rigorous training includes both formal classroom training as well as hands-on training.

Each pharmacy technician must pass both written tests and practical exams. All training is documented in their Training Records and is signed off by their supervisor once the supervisor insures that the pharmacy technician understands the procedure and is able to perform the procedure.

Some of the training includes:

  • How to Behave in a Clean Room Environment
  • Current Good Manufacturing/Compounding Practices
  • Concepts of Aseptic Fill Operations
  • Achieving Sterility and Minimizing Endotoxin Load
  • Individual Media Fill Qualification
  • Semi-Automated Media Fill Qualification
  • Cleaning and Disinfection
  • Environmental and Self Sampling for Bioburden

Retraining on all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is performed at least annually.

In addition to receiving McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Services, Inc. extensive formal training, our pharmacy technicians are monitored daily directly through supervision and indirectly by testing the products that they compound. These tests include potency, sterility, and endotoxin.

Each pharmacy technician and pharmacist must sign off on the compounding procedures they perform. Consequently, we can track who performs each step which provides accountability and shared responsibility.

Our pharmacy technicians along with our pharmacists are dedicated to performing at the highest standards compliant with the California’s Compounding Regulations and with the FDAs Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Advanced compounding skills and specialized knowledge elevate our pharmacy technicians to a level unsurpassed in the industry.
