Best Comounding Pharmacy

Frequently Asked Questions

What is compounding?

Compounding is a process in which a pharmacist prepares customized medications that are made especially for you.

Why should I have my compounded medication made by a pharmacy that specializes in compounding?

A pharmacy such as McGuff Compounding Pharmacy Services, Inc. has highly-trained pharmacists and the proper facility, quality control procedures and equipment to prepare custom-made medications accurately and safely. This is all we do. There is a huge difference between a pharmacy that dispenses prescriptions for commercially available drugs that are manufactured by a drug company and a pharmacy that compounds medications. Choose a pharmacy that compounds only… McGuff compounding pharmacy is PCAB™ accredited and ISO 9001:2008 certified.

What is the difference between commercially available drugs and compounded medications?

Commercially available drugs are manufactured by drug companies in mass quantities for the general population with no specific patient in mind. Compounded medications are ordered by a physician, individually prepared by a compounding pharmacy and made specifically for your unique medical needs

Can any doctor write a prescription for compounded medications?

For the most part the answer is yes. Most of our prescriptions come from Medical Doctors (M.D.), Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) and Naturopathic Doctors (N.D.). Some doctors have limitations on what may be prescribed and these limitations may vary from state to state.
